getting water to the sump?

It looks nutty, but it's just a dual version of the simple PVC overflow. If you look at the drawing it shows to simple overflows connected in the center. I like the idea because if one were to get clogged the other one still functions. It also folds well and compact.. but shug.. thats not a big deal

I agree that it is just two separate intake tube, but you still run the risk of the downtube clogging or some thing happening and then you have flooding. I would rather just have two separate overflows myself.
 
The other thread would be the better place to answer that question. He states which ones lengths can change.
 
Just looking at it, it looks as though it will fail if you have a power outage. You need a design that will maintain a siphon if a power failure occurs.

The link I put up shows the intakes reversed from yours. The water level is governed by the last part of the "u". Hmm.. lemme see if I can provide a better description.. I'll post again in a few minutes.
