I was wondering what substate I should use if I am trying to breed ghost shrimp? Also, does anyone know of a plant that I could place in the aquarium?

Substrate won't matter. Females carry their eggs around. Any plants will work fine. Make sure they're true aquatic specimens.

Are these easy to breed. I would like that if and only if, they are easy to breed. If not what are some easy invertrebrates to breed.

ghost shrimps breed in my tank like mad,
i put 4 shrimps in a tub and when i checked after a month there were another 10 shrimps added to them and they clearly were the babies,
just out them in a 5g container add fine leaved plants and wait for the magic to happen(hehehe)
these are easy to breed when compared to most others

i have been told before that they need brackish water to reproduce...
not sure if that is true just repeating what i was told.

Red cherry shrimp are super easy. my ghost shrimp didn't produce any living offspring, but my red cherry shrimp multiplied and took over my 10g. There were at least 200 in about 6-8 months starting with about 40+ of them.

ive started to breed these, they dont breed very fast and i dont see babies often. They love java moss. IF ur raising for feeders then just raise them they arent hard, if ur raising or the sake of breeding an invert i suggest an investment in cherry shrimp.

thanks for the help. I am raising them for snacks for my sw fish They like to munch on something when we are watching football.

Ghost shrimp are not easy to breed...They produce babies, but the babies die off...I know amano babies need full marine when born to survive. Ghost shrimp must have some kind of special requirement as well...I have never had a ghost shrimp fry make it to adulthood....But again, I have made the fry....
