ghost shrimp

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
add water :)

they breed super easy.. any lush plant will do (java mass, hornwort).. keep the temp somewhere between 76-84.. give it a few weeks..
the babies are SUPER small and VERY hard to see.. your best chance is to wait till after dark and turn off the lights.. then a few minutes later go back to the tank with a flashlight.. just hold it in one spot and you will see them swim through the light...

i breed my cherry shrimp the same way

amano shrimp need highbrackish/marine for the babies..

I have yet to see, a single documented case, of the successful breeding, of ghost shrimp, in the home aquaria to adulthood.........And ghost shrimp will eat cherries....

I will show yall pics of my setup tommorow when I get the shrimp and moss. I would like to buy a hood because the water splatters everywhere. My tank is a 5.5 gallons 19-liters. dimensions are 18 long, 10 inches high, and width 8 inches. If any one has any ideas about a hood I could put on it please let me know? thanks again

Heres a pic of my set up with out the moss and shrimp. Do you think this will work? also, i read its better if you black out the tank so the shrimp dont kill themselves hitting the glass, is this true?

i started with 6 adults... ended up with about a dozen adults till i decided a pbass would make a nice addition... now the pbass has been rehomed and the shrimp... well.. they are in a better place now

Shrimps like to hide. A planted tank will do wonders.

Is the light ok for the java moss? Its just a lamp light.
They're low light plants so it should be fine.
