Ghost shrimpies with a male betta?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it depends on the betta...i have one betta that is fine with them(even leaves the minute babies alone)...the other betta immediately tried to attack and kill them so i had to rescue them... both are in 10 gallons so space is not an issue....in fact during the summer before the ac was turned on the tank got up to about 82 and the shrimp became agressive and ripped my bettas fins in a couple places which they have been known to do in higher temps

I've had a beta in a community tank for a couple months now.(long-finned Danios, Tetras, cherry barbs, and pleco) I've been keeping about 10 ghost shrimp in there without trouble.

Everything eats guppy fry, even guppy fry eat guppy fry. I do think you might have a problem with the bristlenose as they reach adulthood.

I had a group of ghost shrimp in with a dwarf gourami, 10 neons, and a blind cave fish. All was fine for maybe 20 minutes before the gourami pretty much ate them all.

Tried that once, by accident really. A ghost shrimp flipped itself into my betta tank during a cleanup so i left it in there. For some reason the betta made it commit suicide the next day, chased it up and out of the tank so it died and was dried by morning...

Thought it was a once off, so i dumped another shrimp in, same thing happened. Oh well, more dried shrimp for my wee turtle... ;)

P.S
I'm trying to construct a nice setup for the turtle, found it upside down outside a bank of all places, anyone can forward me to good suggestions?
Its a red-eared slider terrapin.
