Have you looked up the Macrobrachium species? I have trouble finding the exact ID.

I spent some time about a month ago looking at the Macrobrachium's. I think you
are right. I never could narrow it down to the exact one however. Most of them had much larger arms. These guys have long arms but not as thick as what I saw on the Macrobrachium pics that I saw.

Hey, those are really neat, I wonder though if they are really ghost shrimp. How long have you had them? I buy them for my blood parrots and a dozen are normally gone in about 30 minutes. I also have some in my daughters tank, those are still alive because I have long skirt tetras in there, but from now on I will keep a close eye on them.

I've had the largest one ( about 3 inches ) for 4 months. I received a second batch of them about a month ago. The large one has already eaten 2 of the smaller ones ( about 1 1/2 inches ). Check the tails of the tetras. All the fish in the tanks with mine, practically have no tails left. Also look out for missing fish.

I do have regular ghost shrimps as well in my tank, they normally end up as a meal to these guys as well.

wow, i would love a surprise like that (not that losing schools of fish is fun) but what a cool thing to see happening in your tank.
