Giant Bettas - US - Shipping

I have seen Betta splendens strains labeled as "giant bettas" before. They sell them at PetCo, and maybe PetSmart, as well.

My local petco gets giants in almost every week they are 16.00 ea.

There are a few LFS nearby that have been carrying these for a while and now all the petco/petsmart are carrying them as well.

Those in Petco and Petsmart are often called "king" Bettas. But often they're only half giant (giant mixed regular) or what breeders call grade B giants. Those real nice and big ones often go to Japan or Singapore where people are much more willing to pay the price for them.

Your post is deceiving. The phrase "giant betta" is typically reserved to Betta Macrostoma, not line bred ornate bettas.

Please don't call people liars when you don't know what you're talking about. As far as I concern, Betta keepers, breeders, exporters call the big-sized ones giants.
