first of all I greet everyone as I am new and this is my first message.
I wanted to leave a picture of a stingray caught in my country, we cut off the tail light for obvious reasons did not want to end up with some cutting.
well and the line was captured to be studied in the Universidad Mayor de San Simon.
I would like to help identify the line and give the necessary info on the species. thank you very much

Looks like Paratrygon aiereba to me.

Best regards

thanks a lot, someone have pic or info of this specie???
that fish was captured on rio chimore on cochabamba state in bolivia. on winter when the water level is minus.
the tail of 60 cm is very dangerous.
in the other forum tell me about a "blumi" ray but i don`t know

In Amazonia when rays are caught they are either killed or their tails are cut off and they are released. Cut the barb off and it grows a new one, cut the tail off and it doesn't. In a few places they are eaten, the skin used as leather, the barbs used for some native rituals......
Remember; there rays are considered pests and are only less feared than candiru.
