giant bolivian ray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what are the university doing with the rays? have you found any other species? This one isnt as popular as other rays (well in the UK anyway) and from what ive heard they are more ambush predators that Potamatrygon.
I've seen only one on sale in the UK and apparently that was with the shop for over a year.
Still a pity its tail was cut especially since the uni were having the speciemen....surely there must be some use for stingray venom?

good health the picture is from a while ago, what happens is that this trip was to catch fish would be taken to the Universidad Mayor de San Simon Cochabamba for study. and good on subsequent trips uffff fished over 100 different varieties of fish for a study of all census geographic and distribution of fish. in the same fishing trip four good engines but put them in a pond in my house three days and died in Ahoah but only 1 lives with me this two years now upload their photos. and good if you tell me where or in what forum to put the photos of others indiquenme fish and be happy to upload.
cut the line because catching a fish of that size was a unique experience and better the fish was already dead when we did.

thanks
:)

Good input David, that'll be usefull for many of us ;)

For our english speakers: Pachacutec says that he has over 100 pics of fishes caught in his country, and he's asking where to upload them. I've answered him that there is subforums where to upload all those pics. And David asks what's the temp and name of the river where the ray shown was caught. I add that it'll be usefull to know in wich season the animal was caught and if there are any other species of the family reported being caught in that region.

Best regards

Very big catch, still I agree with those that should nt hav severed most part of the tail. Sumhw juz doesn't seems right doing to a natural healthy ray.
