its not a Brachyplatystoma. nothing to do with them. it is either a zungaro or a microglanis. i would say the Microglanis Ihengri. i used to have one and he was aroung 6-7 inch and did not grow for about a year just stayed at 6-7 inch once he reached it. there a a couple of species that look similar to each other the max i think is about 12 inch. with the smaller ones from 5 - 8 inch.

they will tend to eat anything meaty especially earth worms!! they really do stuff themselves with food too!! ya Hi Fin Sucker (Shark) will be fine.

Yeah, I don't really think brachyplatystoma, looks not even remotely similar...aahhh well.

killerfish, there is one left at eh LFS. Call them I'm sure they may ship it. The cat was $26. The other one was alittle smaller, but looked great and it just came in yesterday .

i think these cats come from south america and are/or are closely related to pseudopimelodids i think they max out at around 16" or so hope this helps

Max size is around 10 inches SL (not including tail) or 12 inches TL (including tail).

Yup, Hi-fins are cold water and He was doing fine when the tank had no heater and stayed at 73, but since I was turning this into a Dat tank he had to adjust Now the tank is 78 and he's doing fine, has a good appetite and swims around just ths same. So I guess they have a big swing on the temp range. I was prepaired to loos him or give him away. But I decided to give him a chance first and seems to be working out just fine.

not really, just have a 30/20 & 90. For now the Cat is eating nightcrawlers and not really bothering anyone. Although the thinbar HATES him. He doesnt bump him, but I can tell the 4-5" thin bar gets the creeps from him. Everyone else just doesnt seem to like or dislike him. And the Big Dat 9"er dosnt seem to be too bothered by him. I figure the first ones that make get picked on/nipped would be my 3" Leopard Ctenopoma's
