I wonder where they are getting wild convicts from. Most that I have seen in the last few years were brought back by private collectors. Did they mark the collection location on the tanks?
There isn't one, It's all fat regardless of the name.
And I think HRP breeding with cons is the reason some have decent size humps as adults and other have almost nothing. All the cons I've seen with big humps tend to be black and gray while male cons with almost no humps have more HRP looking features. Like my 6" male has a small hump but blue/green/red in his dorsal, caudal, an anal fins. My theory is he will never have a big hump because he isn't a full blood convict.
And those are the thoughts that keep me up at night
