it looks smaller in the facility from the camera angle, the fish is facing at an odd angle and the water throws off the light, making it appear a different size

and they use the eqqs in a way i presume is identical to salmon breeding programs with sperm harvested from captured males, seems to be an identical concept of fertilize eggs and raise fish until large enough to release
 
When I saw "stripped of eggs" I was going into "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" mode. I am glad they are trying to reestablish the species what a beautiful fish:D
