Giant genetics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmm, it's almost like gigantism isn't conducive to a long life span. Oh wait...

I don't think I'd drop that much money on a mutant that one of the common side effects is shortened life.

Moose died at 6 years of age? WEAK!
Was thinking just about that V, could it be a genetic thing like the anormal behavior of enigmas:confused: It would be interesting to see other giants longevitys so we can figure it out;)

If Moose was a heavily bred female I could understand but seeing how he was a male I think genetics played a part in his early death.

Or maybe he was over fed:confused: That can lead to early demise... But without a necropsy we really cant tell

seriously reading some of these comments is making my head twicth
being a leo breeder first then a fish breeder i consider ron tremper to be the FATHER of leo morphs. he has made almost all of the advances in the morph world. the only breeder who comes close imho is jmg. ron was the first to create alot of the morphs avaliable. im sure moose life span had nothing to do with the wrong care (ron practicly invented leo care), but prob the size of the organs. greatdane are magestic beasts too but also sad to say have shortened life spans due to size.

Well some of us here are reptile people first, then fish. Like myself who's been keeping and breeding LG's for almost 17 years. ;) And I grew up with Great Danes, all of them lived 7-10 years. Pretty average for a large breed dog. But 6 years is a pretty damn short lifespan for an LG. Heck my one male LG is going to be 17 in a few months.

And yes, JMG has some awesome morphs. I have a male Tangerine Het Bell Albino from JMG.
