OH...IO
I'm adding a rtgg to my community soon and would love to add a pink as well. My experience tells me that gg tend to be aggressive towards their tankmates but I want to give it another try. What has been your experience?

If you vote "no" then please post your situation (tankmates, aquarium size etc)
thanks

I have a 180G tank that I keep 2.1 Adult Wild Angles which fight constantly, 2 Tennis ball size Red Parrots, 1.1 Adult Pink Convicts (constantly breeding in the tank), 1 Adult Kuhli Loach ( living under the gravel somewhere, rooting out Blk Worms) 1 - 7+ inch Tricolor Shark, 2 - 5+ inch Catfish that name exscapes me at the moment, 1.0 Adult kribenses, 2 - 4 inch Tinfoil, 2 - 5 inch Iridescent sharks, all of these fish live side by side with my 2.2 RTGG that range in size from approx 9 inches to 15 inches. The smaller of the two red parrotfish always steals - 100% Wheat Bread pieces from the mouth of my two largest RTGG:WHOA: and has never been attacked for doing so.

I'm not saying that my RTGG don't battle, because they do but only with each other. They are easily capable of ripping to pieces or just plain out and out killing, all other fish in the tank. I'm not saying that they wouldn't eat really smaller fish, they would because when I kept them with a Arowana they used to inhale the minnows.

Wanna know more just ask.

Thanks. So did you vote no or yes? It sounds like they fight among themselves but leave others alone? In the past, my 2 I've had (at separate times) would either attack my pacu/aro or be attacked by my smaller oscar. As much as I wanted to keep them, I had to let them go.

I voted yes... but it could be a no depending on the tank mates.

For those of you who haven't got a week to spare and read the ongoing saga of the gg thread I'll summarize:

We got an eegg in October tanks mates were:
2 plecs one big one small
3 silver dollars, one very large, one medium and one small
2 bala sharks
1 kissing gourami

Got up to the 2 sharks dead after the first night
The gourami only shows aggression towards the big silver dollar and by aggression I mean it chases it, never bites.
Since then we have lost the other 2 smaller dollars even though I've never seen the gg go for them.
The kissing gourami swims along side and behind it and the gg ignores it, the plecs just go about their business.
We have just added a week ago 2 moonlight gouramis which again it never bothers with
Current tank mates:

2 plecs one big one small
1 very large silver dollar, it still chases it every now and again
1 kissing gourami
2 moonlight gourmais

The eegg is the most aggressive type of gg, red tails are a lot most passsive

Hope this helps, any more info needed I'll be happy to help

i have a 16" RTGG and a 9" pink..tankmates are in my sig..no problems at all with them.

seems all they are concerned about is food, lol
