It depends on the individual fish, aquarium space and quality of food...which all have been improved in the last few years since i wrote that article/care sheet..Thats a good point and i may change that in the care sheet..however without proper care ie: tank space, quality food they wont grow as large. My GG is 27" and still growing...alexpie001;5156430; said:however in your post it states that they rarely exceed 40cm in captivity but other members say between 60 and 70, i am confused?
With proper nutrition they grow fast but in spurts....What size did you plan on starting out with? That tank should be ok depending on the size fish...My GG has out grown the 240gal, planning a 300g-500g soon..alexpie001;5156454; said:i want to get one however one side of my tank is 60cm wide and the other is 120, so i am worried he wont be able to turn properly on the one side, it is going to be built soon so i am considering stock, it will be 477 gallons ?
