Giant gourami in with big dats...ok?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
giant gouramis are agressive. they like to pester other fish. my giant gourami wont stop messing with my buttikoferi. i dont have a dat with mine so i can't tell u how that would work. but gouramis are pesters

My RTGG and datnoids are together with no dramas.

Nothing bothers my datnoids...and my datnoids bother nothing.

They make great community fish.

Whoever says that GG & RTGG are aggresive hasn't met my RTGG I have 4 the smallest is at least 8, the second female is 10 and the 2 males are 14~16 inches, there all together along with 2 tennis ball size Red Parrots, adult 2.1 silver Angels, 1.1 pink Convicts and a few others fish all of which are smaller than them. And while my RTGG battle with each other they never go after anyother fish in the tank, not even when the parrots steal food from there mouths.

I find that RTGG are very calm compared to regular GG.

Well then I not interested in reg. GG because mine throw enough of the tank water out per day (actually per night, they battle with each other when the tank lights go out so I can never get a vid), that's all I would need to push me over the edge. Would be a GG that went after everything else and the RTGG to boot. They'd all end up on a dinner plate. :screwy:

I'm awaiting another 2 more 4-bar Dats to add to my tank the one thats in there now is about 3.5~4 inches & get chased around by the lone male Kribensis. Boy will he have a shocker when the Dats gets another inch or too (I'll finally be able to get that dam fish out off the tank, so to speak - yum yum).

I have a 24 inch giant gourmi.some fish he don't like some fish he toleratates.just when putting any fish into a established territory of a terratorial fish, put lots of extra plants so they have a place to get away, caves, ect.after a while they should get used rto each other.but nothing is always that easy..lol...it worked for me .worth a try...good luck
