Giant Gourami

Now I know this is not the place..but bear with me because somne of you have them..Ethnics, for instance. On my LFS saturday afternoon stroll, I found myself looking at a ginat gourami ( around 12 cms yet ). from looking at him untill the critter was baged, merely 1 minute has gone by. Now he«s home, with my two black aro's, who are acting a little nervous around him. the gourami, just arived, and he is acting like he knows the place...Anything special I should be aware of? is there a risk it turns mean and hassles my black aro's? does it grow quickly? All info appreciated, please

I don't think I have read about GG's and Aros together. If teh GG doesn't take the Aro's swimming space, and leaves them alone, I can't see a problem except that the Aro's are much faster and may snatch up all the food.

Some have quite a mean streak, others are pretty docile. Mine is pretty easy going. I would just keep a close watch. They grow fairly quickly. Mine probably grows and inch a month. Maybe more.

I have a 15" Giant Gourami with my 2 big aros (20", 21") And he fought with them at first, but I let them be and now they are buddies swimming with each other.

I am not liking what I am seeing...not one bit....will give it a few more hours, but the guy brought a certain degree of stress into the tank.....

I have a 10" gg with a 14" silver aro in a large tank. I'm sorry to tell you but the gg hassles the aro all the time. Very little damage comes from it so I've left them together in hopes the gg will mellow out as he ages. They are both growing ~2" a month.
