Giant Gourami

She is a true gg. She is the aquarium version pink. She is not a kissing gourami or just an overly large gourami. She is about 12 inches now and the blue and gold gouramis you see around her are full size blue and golds that are at least 4 years old. She is a little less than a year old I guess isnce she was at the LFS for a while before I got her. I know for a fact it is a female and is not likely to get the large hump on her head nor the fat lip since these are male traits. SHe is the most 'prestine' fish I have ever had. No blemishes at all, fins are all full without a single injury notch in them. She is like a newly minted coin who is fat and sassy and will try and take your finger off if you put it in the tank with her. She will be getting a tank upgrade to at least a 75 gal within the next month. Thanks for all the great coments. I will pass the complements along to her....lol

I have had kissers before and they are the only type of gourami I have never really cared for. If you look at the frontal pic you will see she does not thav the horizontally elongated lips of the kisser. She does have the same coloration of a kisser....as well as many of the aquarium colored fish such as the pink convict...but we all agree she is not a convict :D

As for the 75 gal fote....I have to take into consideration what my raised floor will hold when it comes to tank size...and 75 is the smallest I would upgrade her to. I'm hoping for a 125 so I can put my large severums in that and put her in the 100 gal. ;)

Great looking fish claypac...I see she is in with a gold severum...how does she do holding her own againt cichlids. I'm terrified to put mine in with them.
 
it is a lot bigger then them but they don't bother him. it is in with some petenia splendida, a green and a gold sevrum and some chocolate chiclids and some other fish.

i reckon it has nearly reached tank buster status.
 
Mine also does well with cichlids. But if it doesn't work, don't blame me.:)
