GIANT gouramis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nothing new here. Gussy's the same old cantankerous bastard that he's always been. Here a picture of the old man:

Note: The distance from the cabinet to the top is 21", that gives you some idea of Gussy's size. Funny, the aquarium looks too small in person, yet looks somewhat roomy in the pictures.

Every time I glance at this thread there is always at least 2 peps out there viewing. There must more ggs/experiences to share with the community out there?

Either that or everyone else thinks we are mad! :screwy:

I think its the second choice......They think that were all completely out of your mind, hehehe:screwy:. Anyway did you pickup all the pieces over there and get a chance to look into those ideas of yours yet?

We here are looking into jump starting an idea or two again, maybe possibly. I really wish I had stayed with all that research, and done something online at the very least:screwy:.

Not yet, had car trouble and had to mess about all over the place to get it back on the road but it's sorted now, I'm on hols after tomorrow with nothing much to do apart from a bit of fishing if it ever stops raining so I'll have plenty of time to hatch the plan.

Judging by the replies to my 'there is always at least 2 peps out there viewing' post we've had yourself, Bruce and Matt post so it official we are all mad:screwy:

Nice to see that Mr G is looking his usual grumpy self!

Thanks for the pic Matt, lets hope he doesn't have another try out for the olympic diving team and happy hunting for his monster tank.

Not so, research has proven that fish feed less when it rains, personally I don't know who had the time, effort and money to find to come up with that conclusion so I go by my own experiences.

Go fishing when it's raining = the following
1. you get wet
2. you get cold
3. your gear gets wet and needs to be dried indoors as it's raining
4. if you go and it's not raining and then starts you will always get a bite just after your settled under the umbrella( and yes over here we are still blaming Rihanna) and get wet landing the fish.
5. after point 4 you will not get another bite all day and go straight to point 1.

To keep with the thread title as we are way off topic, this is not giant gourami fishing, worked that one in somehow

But I would love too fish for GG, if for nothing else as Panfish.

I've just come back from the pub so forgive the spelling.

I've actually spent some time watching George today close on, and he's suddenly turned into a big fish, I sit a a fair distance from that tank and don't really appreciate the size he has got, I just toss a lettuce in every now and again and watch him from a far, here it a very drunken sketch of the living room..... I may be a mkr'er after all

Here is the not to scale diagram:
