i cant figure it out. didnt have this problem before. my water is fine 7.8 ph, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite , 5 nitrate. temp is at 71-78. wc weekly about 15%. tank has a painted back and not in direct sunlight. tank is not overstocked. all food are eaten after feeding.

i will scrub it this weekend and do a 33% wc and see how it goes. i will also take some pics. zennzzo , i think you would like my new fish!

remember,
even though the Algae is unsightly at times, it isn't necessarily unhealthy for your fish. Some will say it is indicitive of a healthy running ecosystem...

If your NitrAtes are at 5 PPM and the Amonia/NitrIte levels are at zero, doing 15% W/C, don't change anything in your maintenance program.

Get an algae scraper or a magnetic tool to make cleaning the inside of the glass easier. I would do a once over on the glass then do your regular W/C and call it good, no Great!! ~BenO ;)

P.S. tell Pork Chop she is missed, and do enjoy her like I did...:D
 
It just unsightly. Weekly wc is to make the water clearer due to the driftwood. Maybe that's what causing the poor water clarity?

Going to scrub the glass and wc this weekend and see how it goes.

Porkchop is a great fish! Very mellow and friendly. She reminds me so much of my George. I enjoy her very much!
 
Its 7am on Sat and the only reason I am up is due to Carter! Feeding the baby and the fishies.

Siting here watching them feed. I guess this is a good life for a MFKer!
