GIANT gouramis

if you keep discus with GG's would that just be a major waste of money (and a couple of healthy discus)?

Depends on the age of the GG. IME, they are pretty aggressive as youngsters, but grow into gentle giants. The big guys we used to have never touched any other fish, not even when they would fit in their mouths no problem. Howerer, as youngsters, they could well kill the discus.BIGgourami;679382; said:

oh, and a 300 should be enough room for them right?

I used to have 6" one but one day i was sat wathing it and then it suddenly died while i was watchin it. I've no idea what happened. I haven't had another since.
Oscars are a dodgy thing to add into the mix really. They can be so unpredictable, especially if they decide to take on a tank mate by working as a team. I have seen this happen many times to the detriment of the tank mate.
