Giant mystery eyeball found on Florida beach

I was listening to one of those conspiracy/fringe topic talk radio stations this morning and even the host there that mentioned this tidbit said this was wierd.

Looks very Cephalopod-like. The blueish area around the iris looks almost reflective... typical of a deep sea animal. It doesnt look like a Shark or Whale eye, at all.

Looks too big for a cetacean. Most likely a giant squid eye. They've been measured to 13" in diameter.

Weird, that perfectly scooped out eyeball made it all the way to shore, I would think some fish would have eaten it.

We will probably never know but I would love to find out how the eye was removed from the animal's head.It looks intact.

I've caught many many thresher sharks in my time. This looks to be the eye of a big-eye thresher which frequents those parts.

with the eye being so intact and fresh, I would think a fisherman cut it out and tossed it.
