Giant mystery eyeball found on Florida beach

Yeah I'm thinking some deliberate act was carried out.
 
I've caught many many thresher sharks in my time. This looks to be the eye of a big-eye thresher which frequents those parts.

I agree. Either that or a really huge Swordfish. It does look like the eye of a swordfish.
 
Oar fish washing up isnt uncommon at all. Happens more than youd think.

That should say "rarely seen alive."

There are plenty of pics if you search google images. Even counting the repeats there are a fair amount of pics, and I've seen many articles with a "mysterious animal" that happens to be an oarfish over the years.

Not completely common, but not unbelievably rare for them to wash up either. A few have even washed up still alive, but in the process of dying.
