we are not on top of the food chain.. we just stay clear of those that can kill and eat us..

Yes we are. The things that can kill and eat us, we can also kill and eat them. A rabbit can't kill a fox can it? Shark fin soup anyone? (I don't advocate shark fin soup by the way).

On top of the food chain huh? Try telling that to mosquitos, flesh eating viruses, ticks, mites, body crabs, tapeworms, AIDS, Bird flu, West Nile...believe me, we are NOT on top of the food chain.

No, a rabbit cannot kill a fox but an elephant can kill a lion, does that mean elepants are on top of the food chain? No...they don't even eat meat.

Good point, but as far as mosquitos, SLAP! Your life is over. Now if I could just use this flyswatter on this pesky West Nile Virus.

As far as AIDS goes, the HIV virus doesn't kill people, something else does as a result of a weakened immune system. Now the Ebola Virus, that's a tough one.

i agree with what delgado said

preaditors have instincts. but you are right about this point i got out of it: we are creating a natural habitat and to do that we must suppy the instintive needs to hunt, but as the fishkeeper we need to decide there is a limit of what we give our fish to protect a more uncommon spiecies, not to feed it to our fish just because its small.

PS: I love waching them eat guppies :headbang2 :headbang2

good looking snakeheads. wonder what would sell them at the same price as feeders.

you'll have plenty of time to save gups from fish higher on the food chain when YOUR LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!   !!!!

During my search for alternative feeders, I also thought about using Large Mouth Bass Fry as feeders too. I called many fish farms about getting them but rainbow trout came out cheaper in the end. I love LMB and would love to keep a large specimen of one in my tank but I see nothing wrong with it being used as a feeder.

I.
Just how cheap can you get rainbow trout fry?
