hey guys! i got a giant snakehead(channa micropeltes) about 5 weeks ago. i was 2 inches long. it is now about 5 inches long! im wondering how long it would take for it's skin to change its coloration? you know, from the yellow to black on its back?

they get darker as they grow older, it should be dark brown at 8'' and turn black completely at 10''
+1 with hungdang the bigger they get the deeper the black and the more "pearlescent" their back gets, good luck with it, you will need a large tank, big food budget and be very brave! Lol tank maintenance was sometimes intense when my 1 got around 2' lol worth the effort tho, really rewarding fish if kept properly

Ooh personality! Now that you mentioned it, my micropeltes does respond to my actions eg. It kinda stares at my hands and maintains its eye contact when I circle it around. Plus it does standby an attack for its meal unlike my bichirs
