@ channarox....thx. ..floating plants like real aquatic plants or fake plastic ones?i fed them finely chopped raw chicken...they didnt seem too hungry or eager to eat...just a bit or two...and how long before i have to upgrade to a bigger tank? did u check the dimentions of my tank i posted?
thx again

@ JD7....i will...i just started

thx all

filter is plenty good enough.
they dont mind anything as long as they have cover.
i have plastic plants in my tanks.
mine are eating like nuts!
maybe you should gie them a while.
they may be adapting to the tank.
try prawn meat.
yes,i did see the dimensions.
they will outgrow it in a few mths depending on many factors.
my old ones grew 2 inches a mth at that size.

ull need something bigger in the works dude. they go at a moderate pace.

Welcome to MFK
to quarentine the feeders, have a small tank, put the feeders there with some medicine to control parasites, diseases, bacteria, fungus, things like that.
leave them there for some days.
this way, you'll garantee you're snakeheads have some good food and lower the risk of some infection.
good luck withthem and keep us update.

i just brought some natural floating plants and plastic submergable plants....
i fed them abt half a cm fishes today...and later i put in a cat-fish baby {im not sure but it looked like feeder catfish babies}.... the bigger snakehead {ebony} ate the catfish baby which was very thin but half its length...for a while it was unable to swallow it but it did....and its stomach became all swollen and moving {the catfish inside was struggling.....so i thought my snakeheads are a bit small for catfish babies....
im giving them small live words now {thin like thread}...
do u think the cat fish was a bit bigger for ebony? he will be ok rite?
i will keep u all updated and will post a few pics later in the afternoon...
thank u all for the advise
and i will upgrade the tank as soon as i get some money {maybee in a month or two}...
cheers

keep ut with whatever youre feeding.
but try to get them off live foods.
much less healthy than prawn meat etc.
they can eat pretty big things.
so i wouldnt worry if they look like theyre going to explode...

updates.....after adding plants to the aquarium

pic 1....the Ebony and Ivory fooling arnd
pic 2....floating plants
pic 3....tank view frm above
pic 4....dried prawn, the food mate above suggested....regarding this..i put them in the tank and its been arnd 7 hours and they havent touched...what's wid it?
pic 5....A school of worms {i dont knw what worms they are...they are as thin as a hair and red,neone knows what worm that is? }
pic 6....The "assumed" catfish babies....one of them was swallowed alive today....and hey,im a little confused here, does anyone knows for sure if these are cat babies?...on of these little fish jumped outta the aquarium and was crawling just like a snakehead does!! are these feeder snakeheads?

cheers
