if u read the article, i believe it says that this is the ONLY collosal squid ever caught alive.. they usually only wash up on shores... the Collosal is from freezing ARctic waters and the giant is more towards new zealand / Australia. They are very mysterious creatures... thought to be myths i believe before the latter of the 20th century. until they started to wash ashore..

they are much heavier than giant squids. basically its like peter mayhew (the guy who played chewbaca) and Shaq.

i was under the impression that these giant and colossal squids got huge more than 39 ft. more in the range of 100ft. but still awesome.. wasnt too long ago the big hype was the japanese guys getting the giant squid on camera.
very nice article... interesting how us, humans has not been into the deepest oceans. Plenty to learn from these mysterious creatures.

there's this story somewhere on the net where this fisherman saw a sperm whale and giant squid fighting and later they both washed up on shore, dead. the squid was pretty much squashed, and the sperm whale was suffocated or something.
