Giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis)

we catch them here in OZ...we call them Rubber Lips, GT's or the variation Golden Trev's, If you can get your bait to the bottom with out a trev smashing it your lucky, they put up a good fight to.

so can they survive in full fresh? o.O
 
I hear these are a saltwater fish that grows 5ft and at a very young size, has extremely long filaments on the anal and dorsal fins.

Imagine a group of those in Johnptc's tank.. wow.. I still want one..
 
put it under some metal halide lighting or some t5s and it will look like its in sw... sweet fishh they get huuuuuggee

You are thinking of 2 different fish. The one with the long anal & dorsal fin is a Kagami Ulua AKA Mirror trevally.
