If you've got an Olympic swimming pool, fill it with sea water and go for it. Then you can let us know about the growth rate.
Thanks, I thought it was a similar situation to tarpon where they stay smaller in freshwater and do well. Also they cost 150$ so I definitely won’t be getting one anytime soonI was surrounded by a school of hundreds, maybe thousands, of some species of Trevally once while snorkeling in Hawaii. Awesome experience watching them eyeball me as they passed, diverting only enough from their course to flow around me like a river of fish. To be honest, it scared me a little at first, but when I saws they weren't paying me much attention, I just enjoyed the experience. I think they are estuary dwellers when young, so they probably do tolerate lower salinities to some degree when juveniles. Don't know if keeping one until it grows out and requires saltwater would fall in the "responsible" category though.
What to do then? are they good eating?
