The wolf fish are not as speedy as the peacocks but they actually jump more (I would say 100% of the 60 or so I hooked jumped) and are much more challenging to land. They have a hard mouth and you have to have good sharp hooks and strong hooksets to penetrate it. They have teeth so you have to use wire and I even got bitten off with 30lb wire several times. If you do manage to hook them, they leap and thrash and spin a lot which often dislodges the hooks. Also, you need reinforced hooks and split rings because otherwise they will straighten them. Even if you do everything right you will lose quite a few.
 
Definately on the bucket list!! I gotta find a way to ship em back to the states tho.

Ya know some people might get really upset that we revived a zombie thread, but these are some amazing pictures of something that we don't get to see often, even around here.
 
Yeah,there are some rather touchy folks around who speak out against such a thing but so what....nice photos,nice thread and nice bump.
