regardless, have the friend build you the tank... cant hurt except in the pocket. this fish seems like it's going to be a hassle

i already own one and they are great fish probably in my top five personal faves.
i went there today and forgot my camera but needless to say fishermans syndrome had made this fish bigger than it was. it was 2ft in full inclu tail. it had a large nuchal and was thick and as ugly as they get at that size. the owner changed his mind when i told him i had a 6ft tank... he wanted it to go to a bigger tank in the end. it was incredibly aggressive and the guy said it had been in a t ank with a large tilapia and mauled it badly. im guessing it was a buttikoferi, anyhoo to be honest i dont think i want to waste a big ol 6ft tank on one nasty ol' bugger. so its probably for the best but i do hate to see that fish in a small tank like that.

I just saw one about 2.5 foot trying to eat me through the glass at the Toledo Zoo. ITs HUGE and so ugly its cute.
