Arapaima gigas is one of the largest fresh water fish on the planet and for that reason requires an insanely large aquarium to reach adult size. Here is a link to all the pictures I got off of google. Arapaima photos

What types of things are you looking for? Husbandry? General info?
I've spent lots of time with them, I'd be glad to answer anything you'd like to know. I've reared young, worked on breeding protocols, knock-down research, respitory studies, natural vs captive behavorial and feeding studies, as well as adult and juv transports (by adult, I mean animals over 8').

which is what i prefer to call them

These fish are not for the tank... you need a very large pond at least

How big is the gigas that you bought ?

Normally it won't grow that big within the captive fish tank or pond...unlike those wild catch...
