been wanting to have one since ever since I saw an almost full grown pair in Singapore more than 10 yrs ago, but I know that at my current financial capability I probably won't be able to house it for more than 2 yrs, even in a "large" home aquaria.
Hopefully one day I can afford to build a tank like JohnPTC's and finally enjoy raising one

Until you have a set up for an adult, I wouldn't get one. They will grow faster than you can build.
