so i got this RTC it developed a gill curl i know im going to have to cut it off to fix it...can you guys give me some tips to sterilize blades and what i can use to sedate the fish so he dosent fell so much pain?

no
why the hell would you do this ?
heat the tank to 86F
add salt to the tank 1tbs for 5 gal
so if you have a 50gal you put 10tbs of salt in it
and see if it gos away
so lets cut out the gills so thay dont curl
mybe if you did cleaned the water you would not have a f up fish!!
put it down and call it a day

Tank size, water change schedule. Cutting it off will not solve it. Water changes, warm temp tank, and salt will.

i have my rtc with my silver aros in a 100gal for now ive had it at about 89 for a few weeks with salt becuase be arows always smack their barbells and bust their lips...it didnt seem to get better...u think its just a birth defect?...thanks for your imput

Its not a birth defect its poor water, thats it.

Do some googling, there is a way to massage the gils flat again, but unless you fix the underlying reason for the cause of the gil curl (poor water maintenence) it will just come back, it will also effect your arrowana at some point as they are also very prone to it.

Your tank is to small is what it comes down to tbh, thats why your arrowana is having problems as well.

Oh and you say "arros" meaning more than one arrowana, plus a rtc, in a 100gal?
