gill protrusion

Just got back from a 4 day business trip. Got these guys just a day before i left.

4 were normal looking before i left. now one has a fleshy protrusion, cant tell what it is. advise is appreciated.

lots of feeders in there before i left, now almost none left. Im wondering if he's got something stuck in his throat or if it's some kind of growth. no other symptoms, otherwise acting normal.

its a piece of the gill plate. I guess one of the other ralphs took a bite.

What are the water parameters of your tank? Isolate the fish and monitor closely. It looks inflamed and doesn't seem to be a bite to me although it's possible. Melafix/Pimafix combination and/or daily water changes will help temporarily against secondary infections but do this in another tank until the inflammation appears to recover while under monitor.
