Gilled Lungfish Have Landed in the US :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I received mine a few days ago. So far the coolest lungfish I have owned. I am really enjoying the little guy.
Please do share. I'm on the fence on these. Recently Singapore received a batch, they looked amazing!

He is on a bottom tank and so far the pictures have come out terrible. Really a great fish though. Very active and one heck of an appetite. He literally are out of the bag. He is in a 55g a lone and really has a strong sense of smell. I feed him mostly sinking food but the other day I had some left over beef heart I threw in his tank and he found it within seconds still floating.

Mine comes tomorrow so count Canada on the map for these awesome creatures and just tagging on to this thread

How cool are these fish? Mine is at my office and is very tiny but within a week of landing will literally rush to the other side of the aquarium when it sees me come in. Best personality of a small fish I have seen

Hi all, long time since I've posted but I wanted to share some pics of the first (to my knowledge) import of this species into the US in many years. This is the smallest lungfish, supposedly maxing out around 18", and as the name suggests they keep their external gills for life. So far they've been super active - more so than aethiopicus, annectens, or dolloi would be, and are in really nice shape.

I do have a limited number available for sale, PM me if interested. Enjoy the pics :)View attachment 1277174 View attachment 1277175 View attachment 1277176
My gilled lungfish is currently 28”+. Pretty sure he’s done growing. About 3 yrs old.
