there is a LFS kind of near me that has a large giraffe cat. The first time I was in the LFS I tried buying him b/c at the time I didn't have one. And the one he had was about 12-14" but he wouldn't sell him to me. Well it's been a year os so and I've gone back there a few times and he'll never let this cat go.

Well today I walk in there and he's finally got the cat for sale. He's an easy18" and THICK. and the guy is asking $350!!!! for him. I almost crapped myself. I've seen ones on here that are that big selling for less then $100.

Just thought I'd share. I thought that was nuts.

yeah here in cali, i picked up my 2 12inchers for 20 each, i have seen big ones 18inch + going for about 60 cash, tell that guy to check the forum out maybe he will get a clue

He should have sold the damn thing to me the first time I asked about it. lol

I'll wait and hopefully get it bigger and way cheaper. the largest tank he has is a 125 which the cats in now and it cannot fit sideways in the tank. I got a RTCxTSN from him a long time ago that was 22" for $25 bucks so maybe with some more time He'll let this one go b/c he knows it will be best.

I would buy a large giraffe cat for $350 if it was what I was looking for. (Not all fish look and act the same).

fishdance-- I'll sell mine any day of the week for $350!!! when are you coming to get it?:ROFL: In all honesty though, mine is super active and has great personality / appetite

BTW koop, AA had one for the longest time. it was smaller than the ones we picked up, and looked a lot less healthy. they had it listed for $125 for several months, and it wasnt growing at all.
last time i was in there it wasn't, so they either killed it, or someone got ripped off! i wanted to tell them i picked up the same fish down the road for $40, but i figured it would be a waste of breath

Maybe its priced at $350 because he really doesn't want to sell it?...Just a thought...

that could be but it's not to far off outgrowing it's tank. and it's not the largest tank they have right now. I know he'll drop the price on it in due time but who knows how long that will be.

he probly wants to make sure whoever buys the cat has a big enough tank... because he probably thinks that if you can afford to pay $350 for a fish then you can afford a pretty big tank.

Id pay 350 for a giraffe at that size if it were the tanganyikan color morph.
