On building the new 290g tank, one of the main occupants was always going to be a Giraffe Cat as i have wanted one for years. We found one before the new tank was built and I happily snapped him (he is called Victor) and he arrived a few days later (Thanks Trimar!!!). On arrival he was around 2.5 inches and very pale with small brown spots. He is now about 6 inches and sand coloured with small spots. He has very long whiskers and an enormous snout. The adipose fin is huge and very rounded which apparently identifies him as Auchenoglanis Biscutatis which has an adult length of around 70cm (luckily he will have plenty of turning room). Observing him he is extrmeley cute, an often rolls his eyes like a Corydoras. He eats anything given and is growing around 1cm per month. Has anyone else got experience of these cats? I'll try and post some photos soon.
