Girl Raised as a Bushman Playing with Wild Big Cats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had a friend who visited Thailand and she went to an animal park where for about 5 American dollars you could play with their tiger and lion cubs. She said that even though they were smallish (maybe 3-4 months), they would still rough house pretty hard.

You can do that here too. Even at that age you notice the power of their muscles

We go to a zoo in Mexico where you can do that. Even as cubs big cats have some scary claws/teeth.

I've been to the one in Winston, we rode a camel and an elephant but didn't cuddle any kitties. There is also one near Gold Beach that we are going to check out this summer.

Dan, those are the biggest cats I'd ever want to come into close contact with

any bigger and i'm fine admiring them from outside of a cage

That is pretty cool. They are impressively "BIG" for being so small. Like little giants. What city in Mexico?

Yeah, the tiger was super powerful. It is at a place called the Zoologico Vallarta in Mismaloya, just south of Puerto Vallarta.

The Jaguar cubs were cute and cuddly, but both the lion and the tiger were pretty rough customers.

They definitely had bigger ones you could admire from outside the cage as well - this female lion looked like she would have eaten my little Clifford as a snack. The sign on the wall says "Don't stick your hand in," just in case one was so inclined.

The male lion was bigger, so he got a double layer of cyclone fencing. It was pretty weird to be next to these beasts with just a wire fence between us - you could smell them and feel their breath....

The game park in Bandon, OR is a fun place. In past years, late June/early July was when they had a lot of babies in their nursery for holding/petting. We call them to see what babies they have available for petting. When the babies get too big to hold, they are brought out on leashes, and guests can bottle feed them and pet them.

The big cats grow up fast, so there's only a small window of opportunity to hold them. I asked to see this leopard again, and they brought him out. He was intently checking out all the other animals walking by the nursery. He was not mellow like tiger cubs are.
