I'd use rocks, driftwood, and java ferns or other tough plants attached to the rocks and/or driftwood. Oscars like to use fake plants as toys.
If you can, I've seen some really cool setups that use amethyst and colored or clear quartz crystals. I might try using crystals myself with my next tank.

so everyone says driftwood hey. hmm. might have to check some out in the next couple of days. get a main center piece one and see what i can do. pictures coming asap
