Candy worms? There was an episode of "How it's Made" on the Discovery Channel about them. They claimed that many people use candy worms as fishing bait... :screwy:

I don't think that part would hurt the fish, people use gelatin in homemade foods all the time.

What parts of the fish do you feed them? Bluefish season will start up soon, and I'm sure to catch extra.

the red meat that i generally cut off the blues, thin scraps from big steaks, and have even thrown the organs in there. messy as hell, but its gotta have some good stuff. i figure in the wild they eat the entire fish, bones, intestines and everything and must get nutrition from it. not that i give them bones however.

I wouldnt really say you use it as bait, its not like a real worm where you just hook it and throw it in with a bobber. you use it like you would an artificial worm (texas rig), which come in the same basic colors as gummy worms. i used this back when i was a kid (back then artificial lures didnt have all the scents and flavors they have impregnated in them now, was just a plastic worm).

bubblegum for catfish bait.
