Posts like this make me think of one of my favorite movie lines of all times....

"We're sitting in a machine with over 3 million moving parts containing over 6 tons of high explosives that was manufactured by the lowest bidder..."

or something to that effect...just my way of saying that in MOST cases in life you get what you pay for. You pay bottom dollar and you get the same in quality. GC is basicly a reptile enclosure manufacturer that branched out into aquariums... some may love the prices but the horror stories far outweigh that in my opinion...

I had a 180g that was pre-owned and I had no problems. Not to say anyone who said they did didn't.

But I wanted to say contact Not Just Fish, they are a forum vendor here and manufacture Acrylic tanks. They're acrylic prices should be right around glass cages acrylic prices and they'll answer any questions you have.

I have a 240g with dual overflows drilled and braced since 03' without any problems.
But one of my buddies over at AP had a large GC tank leak on him.

Post like this make me VERY NERVOUS...so knock on wood.

Yeah, but I also don't wanna pay for pretty when the structural integrity isn't necessarily better than someone else. I of course do realize those go hand in hand a lot of the time though.
The thing that pretty much deters me from just going and trying GC tank is their warranty. The tank fails after 90 days and you're screwed? At least that's the warranty on the glass, not sure if it even applies on the acrylic.

In any case, I think I'm going to look into some of the other manufacturers mentioned here and also get a price quote from Seaclear.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions :)
