Glass Cages Aquariums

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got a reptile terrarium from them. They were at a Reptile Expo about an hour from me, we went there, picked it up from the back, quick and easy. Cheap also, only 1$ per gallon for terrariums.

I have 4 of thier tanks no problems the top trim ring is strange but a cpl of minutes with a utility knife and they are fine-Anne

I was going to buy from them, but I soon decided to spend the 1000+ in shipping on another tank. I was going to get a 300+ but have settled for 2x 210 from my lfs...(all glass) @750 a piece much much better deal and I can spend the savings on setting up...:)

1000+? It's like $30 or so to ship the tank. They have a bunch of cities they drive through to deliver. You can take delivery from them at their delivery point. Unless you're in the sticks, the shipping isn't that much.

I was going to buy a 500 from them to replace the 750 I had from Precision Clarity that failed. When I spoke to them, some old lady that answers the phone was a really rude female dog!. She did not want to be bothered with faxing me a quote in writing setting forth the specs I wanted, knowing full well that I had my credit card in hand. What she reluctantly faxed me was very unprofessional.

Later on, my aquarium contractor told me if I bought a tank from them that he did not want to set it up, and said that there is a lfs around here somewhere that had two 500s built from them that exploded. I never verified this, and he did want to build me a replacement for almost twice as much $.

I can't help but feel like Glass Cages is a prime example of you get what you pay for, but I have read others talk about being happy with them. I am happy I did not buy from them.

I have looked at their website a lot, I especially like the 3/4 inch glass you can get for an extra charge. A 300 gal with the extra thick glass, only 1200 USD, what a deal. I probably will order one soon.

I'd be willing to put money on it that those tanks with trouble were mishandled. Most people are ill-equipped to move large tanks properly. I have a friend who has many large tanks and he orders all of his from them. No problems that he's mentioned to me.

:ROFL:Ya right, maybe to ship a tank across the street. I was quoted a $200 "pick up" price to be able to pick up from a warehouse that they had tanks stocked at here in Denver. I ended up backing out of the deal, I've found too many good deals on used tanks.

We do professional tank installs and everything was done perfect and placed on styrofoam.
