I use 1/4" glass on my 55 gallon sumps. Never had an issue. Nice thing about glass is the strength. My sump is almost full on one side where the filter sock goes. The pump side I have almost empty to add capacity if I ever lose power and fill my sump. I don't want the extra water on my floor. If the level of water in my sump was the same it wouldn't matter because the pressure on each side of the baffles would be the same. Depending on sump design, I guess, would determine glass vs acrylic.
Note: I used 1/4" because it was easy to get but 1/8" would work fine in my 55 gallon sumps
