These are what I think you are talking about and they are illegal in Cali. They are called GloFish, but they do not glow in the dark.

lol my lil sis piked out a pair of those for my tank...... i dono much bout em

I saw a show on animal planet last night about glow in the dark fish. They are popular in Taiwan. They take a gene from jelly fish and insert it into a fish egg. The fish looked like guppies but their eggs were stuck to their body like where they poop. Anyways, the scientist can see the embryo's organs develop because they glow. Anyways, these fish did glow in the dark. The Doctor.

They are also darn expensive because they are patented and are sold at a set price of $2.99 to fish stores from the distributors. But they are neat and not cruelly injected fish. Has anyone raised a spawn from these fish successfully?

wait they arent injected???? if they breed i dont think they're babys will b colored. but i could b wrong. Lol my lil sis got my mom to pay 6 buks each for 2 of these man thts a waste of money

The original embroyos were injected with a gene taken from a jellyfish. This gene makes the fish the color they are. It gets passed to their young when they reproduce and it is a dominant gene. So using the Punnett square you can find out the ratio of how many showing the gene you would have. So no they are not all "injected".
