Yah know does hard sticks of glue yah stick into a "gun" that heats the glue up and yah use it. iam assuming it is fish safe.

How well does it stck to plastics ?

How well does it hold up when submerged ?

a quick google search turns up a dozen sites that say once its set its non toxic.

Hot Melt

  • Known as hot melt or thermoplastic resin
  • Has fast bonding capabilities
  • Typically at temperatures between 275 to 375F
  • Used for packaging, printing, bindery, interior assembly applications among others
  • Available in a variety of forms to include stick, chip, pellet, wafer, block, pail and drum
  • Must be processed in a hot melt unit
  • Offers a strong surface bond to a wide range of substrates
  • Non toxic and non flammable

I've never had good luck getting it to stick. You would nee rough surfaces on both side in order for a solid bond. What are you trying/thinking about gluing together?

well i have these finished clear acrylic hides and i would like to glue some sand and gravel, and some larger rocks to the outside of these hides.

I ve seen people say that glue gun glue will last an hour to even two years from their experience while underwater?

But i want to be sure of that it will last underwater before doing the gluing.

Give it a shot! Whats the worst that can happen, the stuff falls off? Then we'll know and you can try some other method.

Agreed.

ive heard that superglue is non toxic. if you could verify that, it might work better. ive used silicone to glue rocks and sand to the base of some of my fake plants to weigh them down.

superglue is used for fragging corals. You'd need a lot though.

super glue can also be used to glue together cuts in people..doctors use it too when a cut or incision is too small to suture.
