Glue everything to assure no air gets in and no water gets out.
If you don't have space for unions, use a slightly larger diameter clear hose and hose clamps to connect pieces you might need to remove.

I think that this is the way that I may go, but I looked for hosing and I couldn't find hose to fit a 1 1/2" pipe.

your local hardware store should have vinyl and rubber hoses in different diameters. (some good LFS have them too).
Get one as close to the diameter of your pipe as possible. If its not quite big enough to slide over the outside of the pipe, boil a pot of water and dip the end of the tube in the water for a few seconds. This will soften the tube up enough to stretch it over the PVC. Then just add your hose clamp.

Good advice in this thread.

I don't always glue wet/dry drains as they aren't under pressure, but I do ALWAYS make sure the sump is directly under the drain bulkhead just in case. If you have two bulkheads on different sides of the tank, I'd glue the exposed fittings and teflon tape the drain pipe to the bulkhead.

Great info on boiling the house Never thought of that. The wetdry is directly under the overflow box.

use threaded PVC fittings and teflon tape I have all my valves and other fittings done this way and no leaks. plus if anything goes bad I can just unsrew and replace with a bucket placed to catch the water when doing the R&R on a valve so no need to drain.
