I love those guys but have never seen on in the wild unfortunately. That is cool to see one in your yard. Good pics and good find.

You're a bit too far south to see this species. They are mainly located in the north east and around the Great Lake region. They live in cool wooded areas and meadows that are in close proximity of cold water streams.

Absolutely gorgeous turtle. I can see how it got the name 'wood turtle'. What a beautiful grain look on his/her shell.
