Roids may not better your Batting average, but will increase the chances it be a home run...

if someone has a great batting average, but can only push a double... good player...

if someone has a great batting average, "enhances his performance" and takes roids, that double can easily be turned into a homerun...

Mark and Sammy know whats up.

Roids can definitely improve your batting average. If you hit the ball an extra 20 feet, that can turn a fly-ball out into a home run.

Did you ever see Barry Bond’s rookie card. It’s amazing what roids can do for the physique.

Not to mention the fact that it speeds up your recovery time, which helps with longevity. So, for a second I'll buy the "it doesn't help you hit the ball" argument, but if steriods lets him play for 3 or 4 more years then he normally would have, thats a difference of probably 100-150 home runs.

Who is the alltime leader in homeruns???Barry Bonds! This is about his record, give it a rest. There is NOTHING that can be done. He is the homerun king.....

So...we are now guilty till provin innocent?......Sounds sovereign to me.

until the grand jury gets him for perjury regarding his steroid use, and until A-Rod hits 1000 homers ( he is way ahead of where Bonds or Aaron was at his age, youngest ever to hit 500, and without a wiff of steroids)

Yep
Arod is a great player. I was sad when we (rangers) lost him.

:WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA: That is a coincodence.....He was "happy" to have been a part of the whole thing. I smiled like a little kid!!! I'm just happy for him. Can we let him be? please? I will not further debate "roids" Go Barry......Come on guys lets show a little respect to the alltime champ!

I'm not sure what # homer Hank hit off Mike Bacsik Sr but it was not the record breaker, Al Downing threw the pitch that became #715.

Show a little respect? I respect Hank Aaron because he appears to be a man of integrity and class. He did not want to be part of a media circus, so he taped a nice congratulatory message. As for Barry and the rest of the Juice Crew; you get respect when you earn it. Barry, Giambi and Sheffield all "unknowingly" took steroids. Palmero and a bunch of second stringers and minor leaguers have been caught. McGuire and Sosa just clammed up. IMO, they will never get much respect from most old time baseball fans.

I do find it amusing how the Balco boys have been treated- Giambi gets a pass from most people because he is likable, Sheffield is completely forgotten (not sure why) and Bonds gets hammered the most because he is a surly prick.

For the record-
I am a Yankee fan and when the grand jury testimony was leaked I was all for throwing all three out, even though it would have crippled my teams chances at not winning the World Series that year ( :j/k: about the WS).

And I would also check Roger Clemens about every 15 minutes. Talk about a guy who was a skinny beanpole his rookie year. :WTF:
