Roids can definitely improve your batting average. If you hit the ball an extra 20 feet, that can turn a fly-ball out into a home run.

well batting average is more of an accuracy issue... 20 extra feet wont improve your batting average, cause its more of a power thing, but yes... hitting the ball further will make you a better batter...

better-batter...

I dont think steriods will improve your ability to locate a 98mph pitch... but if you do hit it, the damage will be greater...

... GO RED SOX:headbang2

I think you mean the world is unlucky. How great would it have been for a guy to break baseballs most important record, and do it without cheating.

I we shouldnt even have to say that. :irked:

I did in fact mean lucky in a shnit talking kind of way. But we are in fact unlucky he had such terrible luck.....

I got two things to say about this topic....

1.) There are tons of guys who are accused of doing what he is accused of doing, but I don't see any of them breaking the record.

2.) It doesn't matter that he beat it. The record is going to be broken in a couple years anyways, by one man....... Ryan Braun!!! Alright maybe a little more than a couple years...

The title of "this" thread is "Go Barry".......I'm sticking to the theme....I'll start a barry bash thread if you guys want. "I" think witnessing history is a very beautiful thing.....

I like to keep the threads on track also but I thought the ........ after "GO Barry" were for me to insert my own title and I want to put ",to hell".

& Yankee fans hate Sox fans ? I understand people routing for their teams , but people take things way too far.

I just feels so right????

I dont have nothing good to say at all about barry and the only reason he is not gonna retire yet is because he wants to keep buiding the amount so that a-rod wont break it but he will.

I agree with you if by A-rod you mean Ryan Braun...:headbang2

no way braun breaks that record before a-rod lol

he has what..22 career homers? to a-rods 503..

in about 10 years if he's still around he'll be at 220 career if he keeps up the pace he's on....unless braun becomes a power hitter with 40-45 homers for the next 10 years..even then he'll be at 450

I'm not saying anything that will get me in trouble but I see a broken knee in A-rod's future....

Just kidding, I like A-Rod.

But Braun is still getting used to the league, and he hasn't been playing since the beginning of the season. I think he'll be getting better in the league for years to come...

excerpt from the book " game of shadows"

(Murphy) documents Bonds' physical changes via the changes in his uniform size. Since joining the Giants, Bonds had gone from a size 42 to a size 52 jersey; from size 10 ½ to size 13 cleats; and from a size 7 1/8 to size 7 ¼ cap, even though he had taken to shaving his head. The changes in his foot and head size were of special interest: medical experts said overuse of Human Growth Hormone could cause an adult's extremities to begin growing, aping the symptoms of the glandular disorder acromegly........

The measurements were taken in 2003. So, that means Bonds shoe size grew two and a half sizes between the ages of 28 and 38. That's just not human........

One of the few times we find ourselves on the same side of a debate! :D Happy to have you on the "right" side! :grinno:
