Don't feed a ton on the last day though. Your best bet is to just feed them normally and then just stop. If you feed them a lot on like the last day, they will just poop a lot.
But definitely leave them, both hardy fish, should be fine.
That's from long-term improper nutrition and a whole lot of other factors. Do regular waterchanges before you leave and feed them well everyday. The day before you leave do another waterchange and give them the normal amount of food. Fish can go without food for a week. It's better than someone overfeeding them and the water gets dirty and your fish die. I've been there. It isn't fun getting back from holiday to find your favourite fish dead and your tank dirty as hell. Those 2 fish you have are very hardy - they will survive. You only need to worry about someone feeding them if you are gone for more than a week. Your fish won't be angry at you, they will be so excited when they see you again and that's better than coming home to bloated, sluggish fish in dirty water.
My Midas does'nt eat with anyone else besides me. Is that normal? Last time i went away on vacation, i had a friend come over once a day to feed him. When i returned, the tank looked like a swamp! He didnt eat not 1 pellet.
